Minha Cidade na Bélgica!

E aí pessoal! Já faz um tempo desde que escrevi pela última vez aqui, mas venho com boas notícias... Finalmente vou contar pra vocês a cidade em que vou ficar na Bélgica!

Cada país europeu tem um sistema diferente de organização: na Alemanha existe uma cidade “grande” e vilas ao redor. Na Itália as regiões são como estados brasileiros, e as províncias são cidades importantes (juntamente com seus arredores). Na Bélgica existem três regiões principais: Flandres, Valônia e Bruxelas-Capital. A imagem que coloquei neste post mostra essas regiões, a em que vou ficar é a amarela.

Sim, dei muita sorte, vou ficar na cidade de Uccle, na região Bruxelas-Capital.

Com 22,9 km² e cerca de 76.000 habitantes, Uccle é hoje considerada uma área residencial que possui muitos parques, áreas florestais, lojas e pubs. Também é lá que se encontram a Estação Meteorológica Nacional e o Observatório Real da Bélgica.

Se fôssemos comparar com algo que conhecemos no Brasil, poderíamos quase dizer que Bruxelas-Capital é uma metrópole, e que as cidades são bairros.

Enfim, estou super feliz por ter ficado do lado da Capital e ainda sim ter os costumes belgas preservados, afinal as capitais atraem pessoas do mundo todo, o que acaba inibindo a cultura do próprio povo.

Hey guys! It's been a long time since I last wrote here, but today I have good news! I can finally tell you the city where I'm going to stay in Belgium!

Each European country has a different system of organization. In Germany, there are usually "big" cities with villages surrounding each of them. In Italy. The regions are like Brazilian states, and the provinces are like important cities surrounded by everything else. In Belgium, there are three regions: Flanders, Walloon, and Brussels-Capital. The picture I posted with this shows these three regions. I'm going to the yellow one.

Yes, I'm a lucky girl. I'm going to Uccle in the Brussels-Capital region. 
With 22.9 km² and around 76,000 inhabitants, Uccle today is considered a residential area. It has a lot of parks, forests, stores and pubs. You can also find the National Meteorological Station and the Royal Observatory of Belgium.

If we were to compare it with something we're used to in Brazil, Brussels-Capital would be a metropolis and the cities would be neighborhoods.

I am very happy to be going near the capital, but still be in true Belgian culture. After all, capitals usually attract people from all over the world, which inhibits a country's culture.
