Oi pessoal!
Hoje quero falar pra vocês sobre o porquê do Rotary ter um programa de
intercâmbio e também de algumas simbologias: o Blazer e os Pins.
Como sabemos,
a visão que temos de outros países é sempre diferente da sua realidade, e com o
Brasil não é diferente. Muitas pessoas pensam que nosso país é uma selva, ou
que vivemos para o carnaval, samba e futebol. O objetivo do intercâmbio
rotariano é quebrar esses tabus e formar “embaixadores da paz”, para que
possamos manter relações diplomatas com outros países: apresentando-lhes nossa
cultura e conhecendo a deles também. A paz se torna mais fácil através da
compreensão.
O
intercambista do Rotary é normalmente identificado por seus blazers, então
quando você encontrar uma pessoa com um casaco cheio de penduricalhos e pins
(foto da direita), não se assuste, é só mais um aventureiro que decidiu colocar
nele suas lembranças. (Normalmente fazemos nossos próprios pins pra
compartilhar com pessoas que marcaram nossa jornada)

Hi guys! Today I want to talk to you the reason why
Rotary has an Exchange Program, and also I want to talk about some symbologies
of it.
As everybody knows, the view that we have from other
countries is always different than they really are, and with Brazil this is the
same. Many people think that our country is a jungle, or that we live for Carnival,
Samba and Soccer. The goal of this exchange is to break these taboos and to
create “Ambassadors of Peace”, this way we can be able to maintain diplomatic
relations with other countries: showing them our culture and knowing theirs. Peace
becomes easier by the understanding.
The Rotary exchange student is normally identified
by his blazer, so when you meet a person using a coat with a lot of things
hanging, don’t be alarmed, it’s just another adventurer that decided to put in
it his memories. (Normally we make our own pins to share it with people who
were important in our journey, these pins are one of those hanging things from
the blazer)
